Goalie Training Available
After a long off-season of reflection, hard work, and training, we hope that you have accomplished your goals of becoming better goalies, and worked your way onto the rosters which you set out to break into.
Now that evaluations have come to an end, and the new hockey season is upon us, it’s a perfect time to consider preparing for a successful hockey season with some additional goalie training and Goalie Army Academy has you covered.
Beginning in October, Goalie Army Academy will be leading biweekly goalie training via a “clinic” environment to help you work on any of the gaps which were pointed out by coaches, and scouts during the pre-season. All of our progressive development goalie training options allow for each one of our students to become the best goalies that they can be by focusing on every aspect of the goaltender’s game. Thus allowing them to improve and outshine their competition as the season progresses.
All of our goalie training sessions are designed and led by Rick Besharah, who will provide each goalie with positive and motivational feedback and coaching to ensure their enjoyment of each and every one of their training sessions.
Students who take part in our clinic programs will look forward to challenging shots from competitive-level shooters, and lots of on-ice, in-crease activity. Our focus is not to place emphasis on how many shots are fired in any given goalie clinic session, but instead to build upon their technical foundation and increase efficiency. Essentially, we train students not by counting how much we’re able to pepper them with pucks in an hour, but by training them to become intelligent, athletic and effective goalies.
During our goalie training sessions, students are educated of the necessity to simplify their game. By discussing technical and tactical theory during explanations and demonstrations of game simulated exercises, students allow themselves to understand the options they may apply during their games to fit their existing technical foundations. While ensuring that they are not overcomplicating the application of their movements, students will enable themselves to apply our R3E System naturally and efficiently to their games with ease.
Our new goalie clinics begin on October 5th at the Minto Skating Centre, and we hope to see you there. If not, why not have us come to you? We’re available to come to your team practices to work with your goaltender(s) during your practice time instead. Just schedule training with us.
