Goalie Army Academy is currently seeking to expand our goalie school by adding reliable team players to our roster who will deliver our professional goalie training services. The 2015-16 hockey season is approaching and Goalie Army Academy is seeking Goalie Coaches and Goalie Demonstrators to provide professional coaching and goalie training experiences to our clients.
We’re looking for individuals who demonstrate a willingness to provide exceptional customer service to our clients via our goalie training services by demonstrating each on-ice goalie training exercise, and providing the necessary explanations for each exercise according to its associated technical theory in a professional manner. Applicants will be required to maintain engagement from students to ensure that they understand how, when, and why they are being asked to apply each technique during on-ice training, ensuring that each student continues to develop, making each training session fun and challenging.
Throughout the pre-season and regular season, we’ll be offering goalie training services to our clients which enable us to provide flexible working arrangements to our Demonstrators and Instructors during evenings and weekends.
Successful candidates must be able to work within a fast-paced team environment, have great listening and communication skills, as well as excellent skating, passing, and shooting abilities. Although not essential, previous relative experience, bilingualism, first aid certification, and coaching certifications are considered assets when applying.

Duties:
Travel to various arena locations throughout the city of Ottawa and arrive prior to each scheduled goalie training session to allow yourself to be dressed in a Goalie Army Academy track suit (scheduled as an Instructor only), or full equipment and Goalie Army Academy demonstrator jersey (if scheduled as a Demonstrator-Instructor), and capable of being on the ice at the start of their designated shift with the necessary CSA equipment. Early arrival is a necessity for our Instructors and Demonstrators to ensure that they are able to communicate and coordinate practice plans with team or association representatives, Goalie Army Academy Shooters, and arena staff.
Work with Goalie Army Academy’s Head Instructor to deliver proper demonstrations and technical/theory explanations of each exercise of the curriculum, while providing positive feedback and motivational coaching ensuring to students to promote continuous engagement, and an overall professional goalie training atmosphere.
Communicate with parents and coaches to provide additional insight and understanding of lesson plans when requested.
Recommend Goalie Army Academy’s products and goalie training services by referring coaches, association representatives, parents, and students to Goalie Army Academy’s Lead Instructor.
Direct Shooters and Demonstrators to arrange the practice setup (placement of nets, pucks, cones, etc.) within a timely manner, pick up pucks, and other training equipment at the end of each goalie training session.
Shoot, pass, and carry/stickhandle pucks during goalie training sessions according to the direction of Goalie Army Academy’s Lead Instructor’s explanations during exercise demonstrations at the appropriate speeds to match the calibre of each individual student while ensuring that students are being challenged at all times.
Work closely with Goalie Army Academy’s Lead Instructor, other Instructors, and Demonstrators in order to fully understand each goalie training exercise so that they may be delivered according to Goalie Army Academy’s curriculum, and service standards.
Bilingual Instructors and Demonstrators may be asked to provide students with exercise explanations to our French speaking students during goalie training sessions.
